VFEA is a volunteer-driven organization working to document environmental exposures, elevate the experiences of veterans and their families, and advance awareness, research, health care, benefits, and accountability.
Whether you are able to take on an ongoing role, assist with a specific project, or contribute just a few hours each month, your time and skills can make a meaningful difference.
Ways to Contribute
VFEA is especially interested in volunteers who can assist with:

Help organize projects, maintain contact lists and records, coordinate meetings or events, assist with volunteer coordination, and support day-to-day nonprofit operations.n text goes here

Help identify grant opportunities, research prospective funders, assist with grant applications, support donor communications, coordinate fundraising campaigns, or develop other resources to sustain VFEA’s work.

Help evaluate environmental exposures and health outcomes affecting veterans and their families; review relevant scientific and medical literature; assess historical exposure information; assist with registries, surveys, and health-data collection; and help plan or evaluate future health and epidemiologic studies. Experience in epidemiology, toxicology, environmental health, medicine, biostatistics, or public health is especially valuable.on text goes here

Help communicate VFEA’s work to veterans, families, the public, media, partner organizations, and policymakers. Opportunities may include media outreach, press releases, messaging, campaign planning, stakeholder communications, and public-information materials.

Create or schedule posts, develop graphics, edit videos, manage newsletters, and help broaden VFEA’s online reach.

Help maintain website content, improve accessibility and search visibility, organize digital archives, support online forms and data management, or provide technology assistance. Familiarity with Microsoft’s nonprofit programs and tools is especially helpful.

Locate, organize, summarize, or analyze government records, scientific literature, historical materials, and veterans’ accounts. Experience with FOIA requests and appeals, as well as fluency in Japanese for reviewing relevant records and sources, is valuable.

Assist with reports, fact sheets, correspondence, website content, grant materials, newsletters, and public comments.

Monitor legislation, agency actions, public meetings, and policy developments; help prepare outreach materials and public comments; communicate with public officials.

Skills in epidemiology, toxicology, environmental health, medical or scientific research, FOIA law, archival research, Japanese fluency, graphic design, fundraising, and technology are especially valuable.
